Twitter sostituisce il vecchio front-end basato su Ruby on Rails con un nuovo server scritto in Java.
Il nuovo server, demoninato Blender, ha permesso una drastica riduzione delle latenze, il dimezzamento dei carichi sulla CPU e un incremento con fattore 10x delle "requests per machine".
Entusiastiche le dichiarazioni dei tecnici:"This means we can support the same number of requests with fewer servers, reducing our front-end service costs by an order-of-magnitude."
